Functional Medicine appointments are very different from a conventional medical office appointment where insurance is accepted. Typically, insurance funded appointments allow for a few minutes of face to face time with the practitioner. With the functional medicine model, during most appointments, you can expect to spend up to an hour immersed in the discovery and education process. The discovery process is key to unlocking the door to the answers we need to get you on the road to healing; and education time builds the foundation that empowers you to become your own pilot in your journey to wellness.
To effectively offer this patient-centered focus, OHS has chosen not to accept insurance to ensure you receive the care and attention you deserve instead of restricting appointments to a few minutes. By not accepting insurance, we are able to deliver a significantly more in-depth appointment that aligns with your health goals.
It is for those reasons that OHS is a cash pay office. As we like to be upfront and clear, please note that you will be asked to pay for your appointment upon scheduling. The greatest success comes from patients who have thought about the process and are ready and willing to commit to the work (lifestyle change) that is needed to get well again.
So often I see my patients caring for others before themselves, putting their health and needs on the back burner. But, you can’t get well if you don’t have a healthy sense of selfishness. What is that? It is knowing (and being OK with) prioritizing what needs to be done to regain your health. It is understanding that taking care of YOU is more important than anything else, because without your health, your life spirals out of control.
Commit today to become well and not only add years to your life, but life to your years! After all, LIFE is about the JOURNEY, not the destination.
OHS is a cash pay office and doesn’t accept insurance for appointments. Payment is required when scheduling your online appointment using Visa, MC or American Express. Specialty testing is often partly covered by insurance through the individual labs. Some functional lab testing companies offer reduced fee and insurance billing options. We will be happy to discuss these options in more detail at your appointment time.
